    I need a solution

I've recently obtained a server from whole sale internet, nocix, and according to your black list, my ip addresses are on the list. I've requested that the addresses be taken off, but it's been over a week and I haven't heard anything. Could you please check if the following addresses are still on that list and if so, remove them? The mail server ip addresses are 204.12.248.67 and 204.12.248.68. If there is something else I need to do on my end, please let me know. If my contact information is required, please private message me.

  • I need a solution

I have contacted symantec support several times about the issue and have gotten no response. It has been over a week.

Posting here is my last resort, our ip 138.197.77.235 has been blacklisted and we have no indication why from symantec.

    I need a solution

One of my clients cannot send email to his bank or his solicitiors both of them mananged by MessageLabs.

Last checked, the email server IP address is not blacklisted on your site nor on any other list.

    The server IP is 185.116.212.19

Any attempt to send an email ends up with time out. The email doesn't even get into their system to be rejected.

From the little I know it is very much like the IP is blocked even to communcate with the servers.

Also, although the mail server is not black listed the clients home IP does appear on lists – 31.49.247.81 - as it is a shared IP for BTinternet service provider.

This is the IP address that the email server 185.116.212.19 recevies the email via SMTP.

Can you, please, offer any insight why MessageLabs cannot recieve emails? We tried solictors IT depertment but since they cannot recieved any emails they cannot help us.

This only happens with MessageLab managed companies and have no problem with others.

    Thank you.

    I need a solution

When you attempt to send an email to a Symantec.cloud customer you may receive the following error message in a bounce back email.

    clusterX.XX.messagelabs.com #<clusterX.XX.messagelabs.com #5.0.0 smtp; 553-mail rejected because your IP is in the PBL. See 553 http://www.spamhaus.org/pbl> #SMTP#

In the first instance you should use the Spamhaus IP lookup tool to confirm if your Sending IP is listed (https://www.spamhaus.org/lookup/)

If the lookup tool shows that your sending IP address is not listed on the PBL like so,

XX.XX.XX.XX is not listed in the PBL

and you continue to receive this problem it is still possible your IP address is listed on the PBL,

Symantec has become aware of a problem with the Spamhaus lookup tool where in if a subnet / range of IPs has been added to the Spamhaus Block lists instead of a single IP address, the search tool will not show you this information unless you search using the first usable IP address in your range.

How to find your IP range

Many popular DNS sites such as Mxtoolbox allow you to perform an IP WhoIs or a ARIN Lookup

Performing one of these checks on your sending IP address will return the range of external IPs that your sending IP belongs to

You can then recheck the Spamhaus lists using this IP address to see if the range is listed

XX.XX.XX.XX is listed in the PBL

With any valid entry on the PBL, Spamhaus with provide you with a PLCXXXXXX reference which you can click on to see more information about the listing and confirm that the sending IP in question is containted within the listing

The removal request can be followed as normal from here on out.

    Ref: PBLXXXXXX

XX.XX.XX.XX/21 is listed on the Policy Block List (PBL)

Outbound Email Policy of The Spamhaus Project for this IP range:

This IP address range has been identified by Spamhaus as not meeting our policy for IP addresses permitted to deliver unauthenticated 'direct-to-mx' email to PBL users.

    I need a solution

    Hello,

My name is Valentin, network administrator for TLH.RO Hosting company (Top Level Hosting SRL actual company name). We have two IP blocks that are constantly being added to the blocklist:

37.156.32.0/24 and 37.156.33.0/24 (from what i checked, not all of them are blacklisted, there are few IPs that are not blacklisted). They are not listed in any other blacklists (i checked some IPs on most of them before writing this post).

We have tried your tool to delist the IPs ( http://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com/lookup ) but they either do not get cleared or they get re-added. Could you please investigate and let us know what the problem is ?

The message we get for blacklist is: The host has been observed sending spam in a format that is similar to snow shoe spamming techniques.

We're a hosting company, we do NOT tolerate SPAM in any way, and we are actively monitoring servers for such activities, we have limits and filters in place, we also use an external service for filtering spam (SpamExperts). Many of our clients are affected by your blacklists because they send emails to premium companies such as banks, institutions, etc, which use your filtering technology.

We also have other IP classes that are not blacklisted by your filter, on the same servers with those affected classes, so i believe there is either a false/positive with them, or some other reason.

    Thanks

    I need a solution

One of my clients is having intermittent problems sending email to multiple companies that have email mananged by MessageLabs. We do not receive a bounce back when the emial is not delivered.

Last checked, the email server IP address is not blacklisted on your site nor on any other lists.

The server IP is 139.130.167.34 and domain is uni-span.com.au.

Can you, please, offer any insight why MessageLabs is not delivering the emails? We tried contacting the IT departments of the companies we cannot send to but they have not been able to help.

This only happens with MessageLab managed companies and have no problem with any other providers.

    Hello,

I am the administrator of modianotv.com mail server running behind a public ip of 62.38.205.225

Recently two of our major customers failed to receive our company emails.

They are both using messagelabs.com services.

After looking at the SMTP server log files, we came accross the issue of

    216.82.251.230 OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 OLYMPOS - 25 - - 421+Service+Temporarily+Unavailable 0 0 35 0 1219 SMTP

Please advice what can be the source of such an issue and if there was a penalty at this IP, please remove it from your databases.

    thanks in advance

    I need a solution

Several of our customers use messagelabs and are unable to send or receive email from our domain (localytics.com). They are receiving the generic 553 message. Our SPF and DKIM records are intact, and mail is coming from legitimate accounts. We have set up DMARC as an additional measure, and have checked for the absence of our domain against blacklists. Because our corporate email is managed by GSuite, we do not have control over the IP addresses used. This is causing a significant interruption in our ability to conduct business. Could you please provide some more information about the reasons for this filtering and help us address? This must be a common problem.

    I need a solution

We have an uncompromised mailserver with four IPs:

    - 212.129.48.30
    - 212.129.48.31
    - 212.129.48.32
    - 212.129.48.33

IP lookup on the Symantec page shows that this four IPs have a negative reputation: "The host has been observed sending spam in a format that is similar to snow shoe spamming techniques".

    This is a recurring problem.
I assume your system confuses some notifications sent from the server with this spam technique.

Our IPs is not listed on any other blacklists (very good reputation on SenderScore), and the server have been scanned thoroughly and are clean.

Please let me know what we can do to clear the reputation for our IP permanently.

    Thibault

    I need a solution

    Hi,

we started 13th of may 2017 using a new subnet for our servers. Since then we are unable to send email to some destination because of your blacklist :

host smtp.aliceposta.it[82.57.200.133] said:550 mail not accepted from blacklisted IP address [92.222.116.148] (in reply to MAIL FROM command)

last week i had to request the delisting every two days, and yesterday I setup relayhosts in postfix to route everything to old VPSes ( luckily still working at the moment ).

My IP range is 92.222.116.144 to 92.222.116.151, can someone of the Symantec take care of this and help me not to fall again in blacklist?

I think that if all emails , without arising alarms, pass through old VPS IP's they should pass from new IPs too...in fact we just moved VPSes to new IPs just reconfiguring their interface address

    1) Symantec is the only to blacklist our mail servers.

    2) There's no spam coming out from our mail servers

    3) There's no virus on our mail servers

    4) Our mail servers are not open relays

    5) Our mail servers has not dynamic IPs

    6) Our inverse records are correcly registered for the name of the new server

    7) Our SPF records are present and working for the main domain

Please help, i can't maintain old VPSes working  more than a week ...

    best regards

  • 05/22/17--06:15: Subnet blacklisted - Reason?
  • I need a solution

    Hello Symantec Support,

It appears that one of our subnets has been blacklisted in your database and this is causing us problems. 46.21.145.0/24 is the subnet in question.

One of our clients uses an IP space within this network and apparently they cannot send e-mail messages to recipients using Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise, as the sender's IPs are blacklisted. If I understand correctly, this strongly relates to other similar posts in this forum, where a user applies for de-listing only to find the same IP listed in your database several hours later.

Please look into this problem, this is damaging for us. We need the reason for this listing of an entire /24 subnet. I would appreciate if you addressed the issue swiftly.

    With kind regards,

    Daniel Walesiuk
